Vision
Our school will be a
safe, secure and positive environment where everyone:
- makes decisions
based on the developmental progress, academic achievement, and
self-concepts of students;
- solves problems
through the use of democratic practices, creative thinking, and
effective communication;
- works together with
the community to provide the resources needed for a quality
educational program;
- achieves individual
successes;
- grows in their
ability to care about themselves and others;
- and acts in a
responsible manner.
Our
Beliefs
- All students can
learn, achieve and succeed as individuals.
- Learning is
enhanced by the use of developmentally appropriate learning
activities and consideration of individual learning
styles.
- Students learn best
in a supportive and challenging learning environment and when they
are actively engaged in the learning process.
- Students, school
staff, parents, and community members should all be involved in
implementing the school's mission.
- A culturally
diverse curriculum and a heterogeneous student population increase
student understanding of differences.
- A safe and
physically comfortable environment promotes student
learning.
- A student's
self-esteem is enhanced by positive relationships and by being
personally responsible for the fulfillment of productive
individual goals.
